Sochi Olympic Games Opening Ceremony
The journey of the little girl was a central theme that ran through the entire opening act. In one scene she holds a large, bright red balloon in her hand as she rises up to then walk on top of a large globe.
It was imperative to the production that when she let the red balloon go, it flew in a predefined flight path that would not collide with any of the other structures hanging from the the roof. Using a bespoke radio control system, the red balloon was guided exactly from our pilot on the ground as it flew up and away.
